New Decade. New Experiences. New Me (Kinda).

As we enter a new decade I feel motivated, dedicated, excited, and scared out of my mind simultaneously. I experienced so many changes in 2019, both good and bad, that shaped my thoughts on how 2020 HAS to go. Nonetheless, the new year is here and I want all of the ladies reading this to know that it is our time and the future that we want is literally in our hands.

Don’t Just Write — Act.

If you’re like me you wrote a list of goals for this year ranging from losing weight to getting a car to moving out and so on and so forth. As I stated in my “Make the Rest of the Year Personal” post setting goals is vital to achieving the life you want and deserve, but that piece of paper means nothing if you’re not planning to put in the work. My theme for this year is consistency, and it is something I will be mastering all year. It sounds cliche, but it is the key to making your dreams come true and changing your life for good. Yes, set those goals, but decide right then and there that you will not take your foot off the gas. Make a plan then go out every day and execute. 

Decide What You Want for Yourself.

In many aspects of life, whether it be professional or personal, we simply don’t know what we want out of the situation. We don’t know if we want to stay at this job or try a different field, if we want to be in a committed relationship or we just want someone there when we feel like it. Not knowing what you want and not be clearing about what you want is the perfect recipe for being let down and left confused and regretful. Decide right here and now what you want for your life, what kind of money you want to make, how you want your body to look, what kind of people you want around you and don’t settle for anything less. When you know what you want for yourself and you add that consistency I mentioned before nothing can stand in your way.

Don’t Forget to Live.

All of the talk about goals, working hard, and not giving up can make you feel anxious, scared, and overwhelmed because it makes you feel like you need to be perfect going into a new year. You’re going to experience distractions, obstacles, and flat out bad days, but as long as you remember your “why” you’ll get right back up and try again. Yes, this year we are stepping on necks and going after everything we want and deserve, but we are also meditating, going on dates, grabbing drinks with friends, taking trips, and anything else that makes us feel alive and genuinely happy. This life is far too short to stress over every minor detail, make that plan, stay consistent, and live your life to the very fullest.
